No-one likes being told what to do, but if you follow these six simple rules and stick to them, you’ll end up enjoying the lottery a whole lot more.

1. Not everyone wins. Don’t play to make a profit, you won’t.
2. Set a spending limit and never go over it. Ever.
3. Only play the lottery with money you can afford to lose.
4. If you don’t win, don’t double up and chase your losses.
5. Don’t play the lottery to make yourself feel better.
6. You don’t have to play in every draw. Take a break.
