It comes as no surprise that the numbers most people play on the lottery are birthdays, anniversaries, and other personal numbers that are considered significant in some way to the player.

Birthdays, months, and years can be played individually or combined. For example, if you were born on July 15, 1978, you may select the numbers 6, 7, 8, 15, 19. Or 1, 9, 10, 51, 56, 60. If your partner was born on October 26, 1975, you may use 6, 10, 15, 26.

Wedding dates, special event dates, social insurance numbers (which, for security reasons, should never be used) and other such numbers are also part of the pick.

If your great-grandma was born on January 1, 1900 at exactly 8 am and died on Jan 1, 2000 at exactly 8 am, being 100 years old right on the dot, you’re probably going to use those numbers in some way to select your lottery numbers-almost guaranteed!

Different Strokes for Different Folks

But personal and life-event dates and numbers are not the only way players select their lottery numbers.

Many people use the Quick Pick option as they don’t have any favourite numbers or just don’t have the time to select numbers themselves and understand that each number has the same chance of being drawn. And then there are some people may decide to use a more creative method to choose their numbers.

There are many different types of online lottery number-generation software, from simple, click-a-button number generators to more elaborate ones that use personal or other data to calculate and generate lottery numbers.

Other sites explain how to use numerology to produce your own personal lottery numbers.

Then there are numerology websites where you just type in the required information and sit back while the software does it all for you.

Look to the Stars

Of course, there are also similar sites that use astrology instead of numerology in a similar fashion. Your date, time, and location of birth, astrological sign, personality traits, and what planet is in the sphere of another, can all combine to give you your lucky numbers.

People have dreams with numbers in them, from actual numbers that appear or are mentioned in the dream to more cryptic and subliminal messages suggesting which numbers to use. So, if in your dream you are walking down a street and every house has a number that has a 19 in it, (19, 219, 3719), you just might want to make sure you pick 19 as one of your numbers.

And some people, old and young, still stay with the old system of writing numbers down on individual pieces of paper and pulling them from a hat or bowl blindly one at a time, while others just write down each number as it pops into their head.

Whichever Method, Just Make Sure to Pick Your Numbers

But, no matter how people choose their lottery numbers, some still win regardless of the method used. So, don’t fret over how you get your numbers. Numerology, astrology, Quick Pick, birthdays, or from a bowl - it really doesn’t matter. What matters is having a line of numbers ready for the draw.

Use the method that feels right for you and keep your fingers crossed.
